Year & Era
Recent Modern Era (Estimated 2021-2023)
Card Type
Autograph Insert / College Uniform Card
Grade
Raw — Poor to Fair (Visible creasing)
Rarity
Uncommon autograph from a minor college release, but low collector demand limits value
Overall Assessment
An interesting college prospect autograph featuring a clean on-card signature, unfortunately marred by a major vertical crease that severely impacts its overall grade and market value
Condition Grade
Raw — Poor to Fair (Visible creasing)
Centering Assessment
Front: Fairly well centered with slight right bias on the lower border
Surface Condition
Poor due to a heavy vertical crease running down the middle of the card and surface wear
Corner Condition
Softened corners with minor rounding and potential stress marks from handling
Edge Condition
Visible wear and slight chipping along the left and bottom edges
Print Quality
Intentionally designed to look vintage, featuring muted tones, faux-aging, and clear blue ink autograph
Estimated Value
$1 - $5 (Significantly diminished due to the heavy crease)
Comparison to Known Examples
This copy is significantly below average condition compared to pristine pack-pulled examples due to the major structural crease
Authentication Tips
Onyx cards feature distinct foil stamping and certified on-card or sticker autographs; inspect the blue ink marker for natural feathering and pressure indentation
Grading Recommendation
Not recommended for grading due to the severe vertical crease which would result in a very low numerical grade
Red Flags
Heavy structural damage (crease) lowers structural integrity, though it appears to be genuine manufacturing or accidental handling damage rather than a counterfeit
Provenance Notes
Sourced from Onyx Authenticated college football hobby boxes or packs, which frequently highlight prospects outside the major Power Five conferences
Historical Context
Onyx Vintage focuses on collegiate players, offering early autographed cards before many prospects reach the NFL draft
Market Trends
Niche market with value primarily driven by the specific player's professional success; minor school prospects typically hold modest value unless they break out in the pros
Investment Potential
Low investment outlook due to the damaged condition and unproven prospect status; best treated as a personal collection piece
